The writing process does not have to be a mystery! – This workshop goes in depth to look at each step in the process to develop a well written form of communication. We will break down each element and practice with our own writing. – Workshop is tailored to your specific needs. –

Writing Analysis - Learn how to analyze written communication.

 

Only when we read other works can we distinguish what is well written and what needs a little help. Writing analysis explores word choice, character development, overall content and the writer’s purpose. – Length 1-2 hours

 

Writing Tips  - Strategies to keep the writing moving.

 

Is Writer’s Block a real phenomenon? Yes and no! Learn what to do when the writing and thought process slows. There are ways to help keep the writing moving. –

Length 1-1.5 hours

 

Creative Thinking - Tips to get the creative process in motion and maintain the energy.

 

Fun exercises to stimulate creative thinking! Sometimes we need to move away from our current project and tickle the brain! – Length 1 hour

 

Descriptive Writing  -  Learn how to create an “image” from your writing.

 

Descriptive writing is one of my favorite activities. This form of writing can be fun and it’s exciting to see what “images” we can create just with our words. – Length 2-4 hours

 

Character Development - Create characters the reader will understand, relate to, love or hate!

Similar to descriptive writing, character development can and should be a fun process. Explore the creative words you can use to make your character come to life. And, examine strategies to keep your character with you even when you are not writing! – Length 2-4 hours

 

Writing for Television and Film – Understand the different aspects of writing for television and film. –

 

Writing with a specific time limit in mind is a skill. Learn how to put the elements of descriptive writing, character development and creative thinking into television and film writing. – * Workshop is tailored to your specific needs. – Length 2-4 hours or 4-8 hours

 

The Publishing Process - Key steps to get your work to the publishers.

 

Exactly what does it take to get your work published? Learn the necessary steps to the publishing process. We will discuss the tools that are essential to understanding the publishing process. – Length 2-4 hours
